Vernon Midwifery is pleased to welcome Devyn Husband, registered midwife, to the team.
Devyn is based in Vernon, British Columbia, and provides midwifery care for families in Vernon and nearby communities, including Lumby, Armstrong, Enderby, Salmon Arm, and Lake Country.
Devyn was born and raised in Vernon. After several years away for school, training, and clinical work, she is glad to be back serving the community that raised her.
About Devyn
Devyn completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Victoria in 2017. She later completed her Bachelor of Midwifery degree at the University of British Columbia in 2024.
Before returning to Vernon, Devyn worked in the Lower Mainland. There, she cared for a large and varied client population connected to one of the busiest maternity units in British Columbia.
Devyn also values education and mentorship. She has taken part in teaching opportunities in British Columbia and abroad with the Midwifery Society of Nepal, also known as MIDSON.
Devyn’s approach to care
Devyn’s approach is evidence based, safe, and client centered.
She understands the trust involved in midwifery care. Pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum weeks are personal and often vulnerable times. Devyn feels honored to support families as they grow and change.
Her care is grounded in informed choice. She takes time to listen, answer questions, and support clients as they make decisions about their care.
